Carole Taylor

BA, MA, Fellow of the Faculty of Astrological Studies

I have been a professional astrologer since I gained my Diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies in 2000. I have an international client practice and teach astrology at both beginner and advanced level to students all over the world.

My approach is governed by a deep interest in myth, symbol, archetype and psychology, in particular the work of Carl Jung and James Hillman. I was a reflexologist for the Complementary Health Trust for several years, working with clients with immune-related illnesses, and still retain an ongoing interest in the field of complementary health and wellbeing.

I worked at the Faculty of Astrological Studies for 23 years, taking roles as Director of Studies, Summer School Organiser and Head of Classes, and teaching the Foundation and Diploma courses. I initiated its Online Classes programme, shaped its syllabus and contributed extensively to its course material. I was Vice-President for nine years and President for three, being awarded a lifetime Fellowship in 2012 for my contribution to the life of the school.

I am co-founder of Asteria Teaching and The Centre for Astrology, Myth and Symbol. I am also a tutor at Astrology University and at Relationships and Astrology, and give webinars for the Mercury Internet School of Psychological Astrology (MISPA) and the Uranai Academy in Japan. I have taught and lectured for other astrological organisations and schools, including Heaven & Earth Workshops (with Brian Clark), Rod Chang’s Academy of Astrology, and Aula Astrològica de Catalunya in Barcelona. I also speak at conferences on a wide range of subjects and have spoken at UAC, ASPAS in Portugal and the Astrological Association of Great Britain.

I hold an honours degree in Geography from the University of Cambridge and an MA (with distinction) in Myth, Cosmology and the Sacred from Canterbury Christ Church University. Betweeen 2018 and 2024, I was a tutor on the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, teaching on the Sky & Psyche and the Researching Contemporary Cosmologies modules.
